Trinity's missionary ministry is based upon Jesus' command to his apostles in ACTS 1:8: “... you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”   The missions ministry was formed in 2004.  It meets on an as needed basis with a ministry team of about 6 members, for planning and organizing efforts. We provide witness through funding, and service, while spreading the gospel.

Our Jerusalem (locally) monthly funding to the Ashe, Wilkes, and Watauga Crisis Pregnancy Centers, and also to the Ashe Baptist Association.  We are in search of ways to provide service to the community.

Judea and Samaria (Nationally) we provide regular monthly funding to the Baptist Convention.  Our greatest missionary effort is to Del Rio, Texas and Acuna, Mexico (directly across the border from Del Rio).  In 2005 a team of 14 visited this area led by another ministry organization.  Upon return it was placed on the hearts of the team to organize its own missionary program, with the focus to help a particular, but unknown, church in Acuna.  The Holy Spirit led us to a small church that had had no support in its 10 years.  But on top of that, we were introduced to a Pastor sent from Raleigh, NC to DelRio, TX to form a n independent Baptist church for the Hispanic people of Del Rio (www.espernazadelrio.org ), secondarily, to assist the Baptist churches in Acuna.

2006: A team of 15 (adults, teens, and college students) performed VBS, with games and face painting for 26 children; built a block outhouse (their primary request), painted the outside of the church (a need we saw), and handed out school supplies to the children (donated by Trinity members and local businesses.)  Met Pastor Ramón, his wife,Maru , and their two children.  We then spent 3 days helping Pastor Wilson, in Del Rio with a tae kwon do school attended by over 130 children.

2007:  A team of 15 (all but 1 were adults) performed the same VBS functions, but this time with up to 82 children, and 12 mothers.  Built a roof, doors, and windows, on to what was 3 block walls, to make a Sunday school classroom.  Painted the inside of the church.  Handed out school supplies.  Most memorably, was that we formed Christian loving friendships with Pastor Ramón, Maru, the children, and the ladies of the church.  Their church held a fiesta for us! Lots of food and fun.  This year we established a Pen Pal program with their children and ours, and between our ladies and theirs (God made it that the numbers worked out perfect).  In Del Rio, we laid a wood floor for Pastor Wilson's church.  Helped repair Dr. Maeda's (our lodging provider) storm damaged medical missions warehouse, and sorting donated clothing.

Next Projects:  We have two specific projects for Pastor Ramón:

1.) Raise funds to purchase and ship children's chairs and tables for the Sunday school room.

2.) Cement the floor (currently dirt and rock)   If you would like to donate specific for these projects note:  “Pastor Ramón's Church” in the memo area of your check.

The Ends of the Earth (Internationally) we monthly support the following missionaries, and as needed support numerous others.

Helping Hands Ministries: Dr. Dean Simpson , numerous countries.

Mike Remy Ministries:  Permanently in Haiti.

The missions ministry team realizes that none of our work could be done without the generosity of others, thus we pass on to our donors Jesus' words in John 13:16 “... neither he that is sent (the missionary) is greater than he that sent him (the giver to missions.”
