I have come ... that they may have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Simply put, Jesus is God's only son, sent by God to bring us each to life. He came to pay a price none of us could pay, the price to buy us back from our sin. You see, each of us has come short of God's perfection. We've missed the mark that God requires. He is perfect and holy; we are flawed and corrupt. Essentially, we are spiritually dead in our sin and deserving the punishment of sin, which is death.

That's where the good news comes in. God is also love. He loved us enough to provide a way for us to escape the deadness within, and the eternal separation and punishment that await us. That way is through putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Simply admit that you have missed that mark, believe that Jesus died and rose again, and tell others about the hope that you’ve found. Then you’ll have received the greatest gift of all, the gift of life ... spiritual, eternal, meaningful life!
